21th century hybrid songwriting:
Danish composer and musician Magnus Olsen Majmon is the prime spirit behind this new songbased and hybrid sound art release from his own imprint Empty Sounds Rec.
Where Majmon's quite differentiated recent releases under the Elektronavn moniker primarily focused on instrumental sound art in longer forms, his new album under this new 'Elektronavn Sacred Songbook' moniker departs from ancient texts and unfolds as beautiful hybrid songs of shorter duration. The texts e.g. derives from such powerful sources as The Corinthians (from the Bible), ancient Chinese Odes, Japanese Zen knowledge and 19th century Danish poetry. Timeless, spiritual and poetic texts confronted with 21th century hybrid soundscapes.
Besides from his vocals, Majmon colours his hybrid songs with a broad arsenal of both western and non-western instruments, and on several tracks you'll also hear tonal colours from experimental viola-player Robert Karlsson and classically trained soprano Rebecca Persson.

Back again here at the enavn news page! Been out playing with PLI around and we're taking a break from gigs to focus on developing new material the next half year. And started a new duo with Mr. Kellaway...beautiful minimal music...hopefully gigs and auditive objects sometime later on. Also involved in a new 'reincanation' dance project with some interesting thinking and dancing girls...more later...please sign the mailinglist if you want updates on these small secrets form time to time.

New Elektronavn CD ‘Quantum Vacuum’
is out now on Norwegian label Humbug in 500 copies....it’s deep hybrid mysterious collageart mixed with drones/punk/folk/lofi-rock here and there. It also features a track (black zurnai) which has earlier been released on tape on Not Not Fun. This new album was made on commision from humbug boss Anders Gjerde and the coverart comes in an quite interesting eco smokegreen-trayed jewelbox and turned out beautiful with artworkpics by yours truly and great design by Mr. Gjerde.

First of all the ‘Blind Turtle Analogy’ cdr on the French quite small but beautiful mystery label Rural Faune has been out some time now. Future
New songalbum on its way 2009/2010:
Been working quite hard this last year on a new album based around a bunch of short songs primarily with texts of ancient chinese poetry, buddhistic philosophy and some bible-chorinthian excerpts. Beside my aresenal of instruments I’ve had some help with this one from a lovely viola player (Robert Karlson from Sweden living in Aarhus) and my beloved Rebecca Persson on vocal here and there. Just finnishing this album these months. Really looking forward getting this one out to you sometime. Future Elektronavn
I’m releasing at least one long in the work double-cd sometime later 2009 on my own label Empty Sounds Rec. It’s sort of an elektronavn re-issue covering ‘the early works’(a.o. tape/concrete etc.) and comes in a double-cd digifile eco-style with a revised Rationale Mystique (a.o. new tracks + revised tracks) along with the two different versions of Audelà l’inconnu. Add new artwork in a fine booklet. All beautiful designed by photographer/designer Kaare Smith.
Also some quite differentiated stuff on Digitalis, Secret Eye and Students of Decay will hopefully make it into materialism some day!

Times are a changing and the break turned out quite different than expected!
We're not fully back in e-navn "business" yet, but here's just an information about a new Elektronavn cd-release 'Cosmic Continuum' out now on Ikuisuus.
January 21th
So we're kicking the year off with taking a break! No contact or answering on emails and stuff from January the 23th until april 19th 2008!
But in the meanwhile you can read an elektronavn-interview by Mats Gustafsson at Deep Water Acres. And... Ikuissus is having a New elektronavn CD 'Cosmic Continuum' ready very soon! Kind of a synthesis of all material!
And...a bunch of other releases might also pop up these following months (both Elektronavn and Pink Luminous Invocation)!

A new compilation cdr from Digitalis features Elektronavn with a track from a forthcoming album that will be relased on Digitalis sometime 2008. The compilation cdr is out now: Wailing Bones vol 13. /// On friday the 9th there'll be a concert at Lygten Station wih Elektronavn, Marie Louise Munck (from amstrong) and Pink Luminous Invocation + Distortion Girls free form disco all night!
October the 3th
A new freakoutfolk repetitve sub sub casette on Not Not Fun in 99 expl. is out now! They usually sell their stuff fast so you'll probably have to act fast to get one. Theres an elektronavn (and pink luminous) concert in Århus Kunstbygning on the 24th (and 23th) of october and in Copenhagen november the 9th at Lygten Station. July the 17th
A bunch of great news! First of all new Elektronavn release ' Songs of Impermanence' is out now on Ikuisuus! And besides that elektronavn is having a first full lenght lp 'Strange Hymns' coming on Italian Qbico sometime late 2008/2009! Thats really great news... and its gonna be released along with a Pink Luminous Invocation plus an Exquisite Russian Brides lp! Well...another elektronavn-cdr is coming soon on Secret Eye , and a lot of new quite different stuff is in preparation. Besides that, the tapework 'Audelà l'inconnu (vertical)' is presented at the UNM-festival Iceland/Reykjavik in september and also at the moving NWEAMO festival (San Diego, Boulder, Morelia, NYC) in october. And next week Pink Luminous Invocation is playing a spectacular concert at a very high fabric tower with something like 10 secs of delay!? at the Norberg Festival in sweden.
June the 5th
Well! It seems like the fine finnish label Ikuisuus gonna release the new album 'songs of impermanence' and thats just great! New artwork is beeing made and it'll be out sometime summer 07. And also the 'Love, light, compassion' album will be out on secret eye cdr series very soon! And there'll be a Elektronavn and Pink Luminous Concert in Århus october 07.

May the 15th
There'll be an Elektronavn concert at Stengade 30 on June the 9th. Several other bands will play there as well.This concert is a part of a warm up act for the Norberg Festival which takes place in Sweden July 2007. Co-band Pink Luminous Invocation will play at the Festival in July.
And: A new Elektronavn album will be released at own label 'Empty Sounds Rec.' sometime summer 2007.
April the 19th
